World Wide Net

Hello All:

The World Wide DMR Net continues to be a big success. Repeater Sysops can make the World Wide Talk Group, TG91 a Static TG during these Nets via the Repeater Admin Dashboard.

I just updated K6MDD Mt Diablo to come Active at 0730AM PST on Saturdays for two hours. After that the World Wide Talk Group is available as a Dynamic Talk Group with a suggestion to be on Time Slot 1.

Global NorCal 5150 is Now Approved

The 5150 Talk Group was created back in 2011 as the main NorCal Talk Group. As we went to BrandMeister it needed to change to not conflict with other countries.

The BrandMeister DEV Team has approved this Talk Group with a “label” of “Global NorCal 5150.”

So 5150 is officially back in service with TG95150.

Our thanks to the BM DEV Team

Suggest RX Group

With the increase of DMR traffic in Northern California, there are now 3 Northern Cal TG’s in use.

NorCal TG31068
5150 TG95150
DMR of Anarchy TG31666

By creating a RX Group with these 3 TG’s in it and adding it to the 3 channels, you will not miss traffic while you are monitoring. Hold-off timers will prevent TG collisions while talking on a selected TG.

Pacificon Digital Dinner 2017

The Pacificon Digital Dinner will be held at the same location as the previous years. We have again secured the “back room” for the digital group. No Host food and drink are available from the standard menu. We hope to see you all there and look forward to catching up.

BrandMeister Updates

Hello All:

Many updates to BrandMeister happened in the last 24 hours.

We have coverage maps, additional filters for last heard and the long awaited Repeater Sysop Static configuration portal.

As has been reported for the last several weeks, you will need to register on the BrandMeister.Network Dashboard to gain control to these and many other features.

Once access is granted, you got the control you have been waiting for.

To that end the Default Condition for All Talk Groups on Master 3103 have been changed to Dynamic as to NOT conflict with your decisions on what you want to be Static.

So if you want a Talk Group to be Static you make it so..

If you need help and you are on Master 3103 please let me know and I can assist you.

Thanks,

Tim

Pacificon 2016 Recap

Hello All:

Pacificon 2016 was a big success.

More than 60 people attended the Pacificon Digital Dinner Friday night and a great presentation was made by the good folks from Powerwerx’s.

The Pacificon 2016 DMR presentation was “standing room only” at 08:00AM Saturday morning with more than 100 folks in attendance with BrandMeister as the main theme.

The SNARS presentation on Code Plug programming at 04:00PM was also a packed house.

Seventeen new DMR-MARC ID’s were issues, while Bruce, NG6D programmed radios.

All in all more than 50 new DMR users purchased radios with several more being sold to existing DMR users who just wanted to buy something.

The excitement was high the entire day..

For me personally, my day was made when I heard Jay, KT6Y talking to Ron, K6XC who was on a trip to Hawaii.

Ron is new to DMR and he just got an OpenSpot for his trip.

Jay is the Trustee of the MDARC, W6CX repeaters, who I have known for more than 35 years, who just got his first DMR radio Saturday at Pacificon 2016.

NorCal DMR rocks and I want to thanks all of you who took the time to share part of your day with me.

It really meant a lot to me this year, as many of you know.

73’ and Enjoy the Ride,

Tim

W6UUU and W6SRR Update

The Admins of the W6UUU and W6SRR DMR repeaters are testing other Networks and are currently not on the BrandMeister Network. This testing may take to the end of 2016 before they make a decision on where they will go and what they will do.

Please join me in wishing them success in this venture.

They will be missed..

Thanks,

Tim

First Phase Repeater Admin Portal

Hello All:

The first phase of the repeater sysops page is now active. In order for you to gain control to this portal, you will need to register an account with the dstar.su Web site.

I will then need to link the repeaters that you are responsible for and then you can login and the Sysop Dashboard will be a selection, showing a tab for each of your repeaters.

You then need to add the requested information for each repeater.

I am here to assist.

Thanks,

Tim
